Oven Roasted Bacon
Ingredients
- 1 pound bacon
- 1 box parchment paper
Preparation
Frying bacon in the oven is revolutionary because it eliminates splattering
grease, requires little attention, and leaves your hands free for other
tasks. Put the bacon in the oven and prepare other dishes on the menu
while the bacon fries to perfection in the oven. A pound of bacon usually
contains 20 slices. That sounds like a lot, but it goes fast!
Preheat the oven 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with a piece of
parchment paper. Make sure the cookie sheet you use has sides on it.
Place the bacon on the parchment paper in neat rows (you may need 2 cookie
sheets if you roast the entire pound). Place the bacon in the oven for 25
to 30 minutes, depending on the thickness of slices and desired crispness.
When the bacon is done, drain it on a double thickness of paper towel and serve.
Note: Lining the cookie sheet with parchment paper
is optional, but will make cleanup much easier. The
parchment paper acts as insulation, so the bacon
will take a few minutes longer to cook than if it's
placed directly on the cookie sheet.
Makes 4 servings. Preparation time: 5 minutes. Cooking time: 25 - 30 minutes.
