Swiss Cheese and Pear Salad

1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup plain yogurt
Dash of ground cardamom
Dash of ground cinnamon
2 fresh pears, cored and cut into chunks
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup chopped roasted cashews
Lettuce leaves (optional)

Combine sour cream, yogurt, cardamom and cinnamon. Add pears, cheese and cashews, tossing gently. Cover and chill for several hours or overnight. The longer it sits, the better the flavors will combine.

Serve on lettuce leaves on individual salad plates, if desired.

Yield: 4 servings. (Double the recipe for more people.)
