Sculpting with Salt Dough

Learn to Sculpt with Salt Dough
How to make the dough:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup table salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.  Add warm water and oil slowly, using your hands to mix all together.  Wear rubber gloves if you wish, as the salt tends to dry your skin.  Knead on a flour-covered surface for at least 10 minutes, until the surface is smooth and elastic.  Wrap the dough tightly or place in a covered container.  Take out only what you will be using as the dough will dry out quickly if left in the air.  The dough can be stored for quite a long time in a refrigerator.
