Fast Fabulous Hats

Make fun hats fast:  Hats are fun to make and wear.  This kind is easy and once you know how, you can make all kinds.  Get ready for Halloween early!

You will need:

• Large piece of paper such as gift wrap, newspaper or butcher's paper
• Masking Tape
• Large Ball or Bucket (big enough for a head)
• Paint, glitter, buttons, ribbon, glue, and anything else you can think of to use to decorate your hats

How to do it:

Center the large piece of paper over the ball or upside-down bucket.  Press the paper with your hands around the bucket or top half of the ball to shape your hat.  Hold the paper in place and wrap large pieces of tape around and around several times to make a hat band.  (It really helps to have a second person help hold the paper in place.)  Like magic, when you remove the paper from the ball or bucket you'll have a hat shape.  Trim the brim to the shape you want, then have fun decorating your hat!  Suggestions for hats:  Floppy garden hats; pilgrim hats; soldier hats; clown hats; bowler hats; hobo hats; glue ears on to make animal hats.  Use your imagination!
