Worm Farm

Build a worm farm:  Fill a quart jar with layers of garden soil, sand, and leaves or compost.  Spray the mixture with water and add worms from outside.  Cover the jar with paper for a couple of days to keep it dark inside.  When you take the paper off, you'll see tunnels your worms have made.  NOTE:  Keep the soil mixture moist so the worms are able to move around easily.  Return the worms to the soil outside in a week or so.

Tip:  Don't put a top on the jar unless it has lots of holes punched in it.  Worms need air to live.  Also, don't keep your worm farm in a sunny window.  You might wind up with baked worms!
