How To Do It:
First prepare your colored water by adding a few drops of food coloring or paint
to each dish of water.
If you are using an eye dropper or paint brush, take your coffee filter, flatten it out and drop
different colors on the filter. The colors will run and blend together.
If you don't have an eye dropper or a paint brush, take your coffee filter and dip
different areas of it into the colored water. The colors will blend and run
together this way, too.
When the coffee filter is dry, take the coffee filter and pinch it together in the
middle so you have a bow shape. The two sides will be the butterfly wings.
Wrap a twist tie around the center to secure it, then, twist a pipe cleaner
around the center and let it stick out at the top like a butterfly's antennae.
Glue a piece of magnet to the back and admire your work!
Tips:
Use a black magic marker to put dots here and there on your butterfly.
Make lots of them and give them to friends or take one as a present when you
visit someone.
If you don't have magnets to glue on your butterfly, tie a piece of string around
the middle and hang it from the ceiling. Make lots and have butterflies
everywhere!
