Mystery Painting

Create a mystery picture and watch the image appear:  It looks like you're not painting anything, but it's really there!

You will Need:

  • 4 Tablespoons baking soda
  • 4 Tablespoons water
  • cotton swabs
  • sheet of white paper
  • watercolor paints & paintbrush
How to do it:
  1. Dissolve the baking soda and water in a cup.
  2. Dip the cotton swab in the mixture and paint an invisible picture on the white paper.
  3. Dry the artwork completely.
  4. Brush the watercolor paint over the paper to reveal the mystery picture!
Variations:
  1. Create a secret picture for a friend to reveal with watercolor paint.
  2. Create a secret message for a friend.
  3. Add crayon to the mystery painting and then brush with watercolor paint for a mystery wax resist.
