Make your own sidewalk chalk: It's fun to draw on the sidewalk. You can
draw a hop scotch game, or how about a tic-tac-toe game! You can even draw your
own zoo - zoo animals in cages. First, you'll need the chalk!
Here's the Recipe:
1 Cup Plaster of Paris
Powdered Tempera Paint
1 Cup Water
How to Do It:
Find a mold for your sidewalk chalk. Use small paper cups, toilet
tissue rolls, candy molds, or whatever you can find. Make sure you can
hold the mold in one hand, though! You'll need one mold for each color
chalk.
Mix the Plaster of Paris and the tempera paint in the color you want.
Then add the water and stir. Let the mixture stand for a few minutes
then pour it into the mold.
Set the mold aside and let the chalk dry completely. Drying can
take anywhere from several hours to a few days depending on the size of the
mold you chose. Once dry, remove the chalk from the mold. If it is
still damp, let the chalk air dry for another 24 hours.
When it's dry, all you have to do is find a sidewalk. Enjoy!
